Game rules

Notice: These rules can be changed, edited, and added to at any time.
It is your responsibility to keep updated with them.

§1 Accounts

I Account-Sharing

Every account is entitled to be played by one player only. The player of the account may change accounts for only two reasons: if pre-approved account sitting occurs or an account exchange takes place via the ticket system and with GO knowledge and approval.

Note: No matter what reasons given for your account being played by family members and/or friends without knowledge, your account will be be subject to the consequences of account sharing violation which is permanent ban.

II Multi-Accounting

Every player is entitled for a single account at a time per Gladiatus Server. Multiple accounts of the same individual will be blocked. Accounts for the sole purpose of increasing victim count and booty/gold also fall under this regulation. If several users are accessing the game using the same network IP (e.g. school, company, group house etc), the respective players are required to report such actions through the ticket system. Failure to declare such actions can result in an in-game ban.

Special care should be taken to ensure no more common account settings are being used, when the IP already is identical to multiple accounts. An identical IP alone is not a common reason to be blocked, several elements are considered.

III Account Exchange

Any given account is related to the person to which the fixed Email-address belongs to. If users exchange accounts without the assistance of a game operator, no complaints or requests will be processed unless these originate from the fixed mail addresses with in the given accounts. Also there will be no backups or account rescues when the account exchange takes place without a game operator.
Game operators can not only exchange two accounts easily, they can ensure security (from fraud).
Account exchanges/take overs must be done through the ticket system and with the assistance of the GO or SGO of the corresponding server(s) involved. If an exchange is not done via the GO or SGO, we cannot guarantee that you will get your account returned to you should something go wrong, the account may or may not be banned per investigation and an account may only be exchanged once every 60 days.
**Note - It is the Players responsibility to ask the former owner of the account that they are trying to take over or exchange if it has previous bans, as bans follow the account not the player. Any bans that the original owner accumulated remain with the account.

§2 IP Share

All players sharing an IP (example family/workmates etc) must report IP share via the ticket support system for GO approval. Reporting your IP share does not guarantee it will be approved. IP share can be revoked at anytime if evidence of rule violations is found.
If the IP share situation changes (IP's change, an account exchange happens, an addition of/or deletion of another family/friend/workmate account) it is the responsibility of the players to report these changes to their GO, if these changes are not reported, IP share approval may be revoked and further action be taken. If you play from workplace or internet cafe and are not sure if there are others who play from the same location, it is the players responsibility to submit a ticket concerning possible IP share and take all reasonable steps to ensure no breach of IP share rules takes place

Note: Players on the same IP may not buy/sell or in anyway exchange items between same IP accounts nor may they attack the other account(s) on the IP for any reason. The ban length for committing these offenses will be the same as those of Pushing and standard Bashing.

§3 Bug-Using

Exploiting errors, misbehaviors or bugs in the programming of Gladiatus and usage of such to one's own advantage - so called bug-using - is not allowed. Every player is required to report found bugs immediately. Exploiting bugs to gain advantage in the game-play may be blocked from 1 day to indefinite time depending on the severity of the exploitation of a bug. The same applies to a player refusing to report a found bug.
Adding special characters to character names can be punished as bug-using as it can be judged as an attempt to evade scans / attacks.

§3 Interference With Game Technology

Installations and methods that cause excessive internet traffic to the server or can be used to impair normal gameplay should be omitted. In particular, automatic or semi-automatic scripts capable of interacting with the game database or issuing game commands, are prohibited and usage or installation of such result in an immediate and permanent ban form the entire game.
We reserve the right to claim damage in the amount of the caused damage plus coverage for administrative expenses.

§4 Extortion

Extortion and threats that relate to a players "real life" (physical, as compared to "virtual live" on the net) can cause limited or unlimited blockage of the respective account the threats or extortion were sent. Such blockage would also cover access to the Gladiatus Forum.

§5 Bashing

I Level Bashing
Players may only attack arena targets within the level allowance as per table below.
However, players may attack any and as many opponents as you like outside this level allowance twice (2x) in 24hr period (00:00 - 23:59 server time).

Quoted

Level 1-20 +/- 10 levels
Level 21-40 +/- 11 levels
Level 41-60 +/- 12 levels
Level 61-80 +/- 13 levels
Level 81-100 +/- 14 levels
Level 101-150 +/- 15 levels
Level 151-200 +/- 20 levels

*Note - Attacks made/received in the "Circus Turma" "Arena Provinciarum and "Circus Provinciarum" do NOT count towards any type of bashing. Only attacks made/received in the "Arena" count towards bashing.

**Please also note that it is the players responsibility to report a Bashing within 24-48 hours from the time of the first attack for staff to be able to verify the Bashing took place and act accordingly. If you do not report a Bashing in this time, the staff cannot guarantee that the Bashing can be acted on.
Though screen shots are requested/welcomed on the ticket system, they alone cannot and will not be used as the only verification of a Bashing event.

§6 Account Sitting

Account sitting may take place under the following conditions. Failure to read these rules before agreeing to/declaring an account- sit could result in a warning

You are obligated to inform your server's GO about sitting and agree that you have read and understood the rules.

The account may only be sat for 5 days from the 1st login of the account sitter

After the account sitting, neither the account nor the account sitter may participate in account sitting for next 3 weeks

Once per year it is permitted for an account to be sat for a period of up to 14 continuous days. However if the account-sitting is arranged for only 10 days, it still qualifies for your once a year sitting allowance.

People who are sitting accounts in the same guild which is in the midst of a guild war need to announce to both guilds that the account being sat will not be included in the war until the account sitting is over.

DO NOT

  • Attack the same target or targets (enemy player) using both accounts This means you may NOT
attack the same player(s) with both accounts.
  • Participate in any activity that will benefit one account at the detriment of the other. This includes, but is not limited to:
    1) attacking the same enemy player to gain better ranks in the arena
    2) selling overpriced items from one account and buying with another
    3) Use the gold of the account being sitted for any gain to the account that is sitting.
    4) Change any account settings - this includes usernames, passwords or registered account emails.
The above rules in relation to account sitting supersede all other rules with regards to attacks made.

§7 Pushing

Pushing is forbidden.

Pushing and Pulling are the same process, just in opposite directions. For the purpose of this rule we will use the term pushing to describe transfer in either direction.

Pushing is defined as the transfer of items or gold without adequate reward to the buyer or seller.

This can be done in either the market or guild market.

Items are defined as those material possessions that are acquired from the auction, markets, vendors, quests and dungeon awards. In other words, game items only.

“Reward” is limited to another item of similar value or gold.

Items can be sold for no more than 3x their value.

Buying or selling multiple items to the same player that appears to be pushing in the judgement of the GO is against the rules.

Limitations:

It is allowed to sell an item way overpriced to save one’s gold. This is known as Banking or Packaging. The gold has to be paid back between 2 exact same players within 24 hours with the same item that was used for the first half of the banking transaction. This is the only banking system allowed. If there is a problem with the bank/package, such that items are mixed up or something went wrong with completing the bank/package, use the support tool to contact the severs GO (http://support.gladiatus.com). This will help in stopping an unwanted ban.

Guilds are not to be bought or sold.

If a player wants to give another player a gift such as gear, food, upgrades and mercenaries, it must be done in the guild warehouse. Gifts such as gear, upgrades, mercenaries or items of this nature is limited to no more than 1 every seven days. Excluded are consumable items (usable or reinforcements) these are limited to no more than 1 every 24 hours.

The limit on consumable items (usable or reinforcements) in the guild warehouse is suspended during a forum war for the guilds involved.

Guild upgrades:

Only Guild Masters or admins are responsible for guild upgrades. Upon submitting a ticket and GO approval, he/she will have the right to collect all gold and warehouse items from the guild warehouse for the upgrade. Only one person can do this task. (tickets need details: what costs , what they upgrade , in what time) Any overage collected will be donated to the guild bank.

There are no service contracts. No bodyguards, auction watchers, advisors, etc.

There is no pot splitting in the Circus Turma or in normal arena. What gold you win is yours only.

NOTE: Players sharing a IP are still bound by IP share rules. No buying or selling between each other.

§8 Language

The official language in game is English.
All messages, user profiles, guild descriptions etc. have to be in English.
Otherwise the game administration is allowed to censor these descriptions and ban the current user.

1. Concerning Insults in-game, though there is no list of what is considered Light insult and what is considered Heavy Insult, any cursing, use of foul language and so forth fall under Insult Rule and therefore will be acted upon. The consequences of in game Insults are stated clearly in the consequences.

§9Ingame Chat

Language
The official language of Gladiatus.com is English this also applies for ingame chat. Use of any other language in main chat (does NOT apply to guild chat channel) will result in bans from the chat system.

Insults/Profanity
Ingame chat may not cause any offence to players of Gladiatus by being of unacceptable quality. This is in particular but not limited to:
  • When insulting another user or potential group of users.
  • When foul/Sexual language is used.
  • When a racist statement is made.
  • When extreme political statements or terms are used.
  • The posting of links to improper pictures or websites.

It is up to the judgment of gamestaff to decide if a content is bannable. The consequences for breaching the above rules will be chat bans AND in extreme cases account bans.

§10 Withdraw

Actions done by a game operator responsible for a given Gladiatus Server can only be reversed by another game operator if the game admin agrees.

§11 Refund

1. If a player faces disadvantages caused by programming errors or other misbehavior's or errors by the Gladiatus team, he is not generally entitled for any refunding or resurrection of the accounts state before the occurrence of the disadvantage (e.g. backup).
2. Should a player try to circumvent a decision or its implications issued by a game operator by contacting another game operator about the same matter, the player maybe excluded from further game play (Exception: Intervention by contacting the super game operator).

§12 Exclusion From The Game

Any breach of these rules may lead to blocking the account or exclusion from the game. Depending on the severity of the offending action the punishment can be extended to all Gladiatus servers and possibly further service provided by Gladiatus such as the official Gladiatus forum or the related IRC channels. Members of the Gladiatus team agree to fully present the offending action according to the best of their knowledge and their beliefs.

§13 General Operating Conditions

Players which can't agree to the general operating conditions of Gladiatus due to their nationality, age or other reasons, are presented with the standard operating conditions using the internal interpretations of the rules as an addition. This way no legal binding of the player to the general operating conditions is established, however an equal position for all players is attained regarding the judgment of issues. The game is English and the language is English as well. If a player receives a non-English in game message and complains about it the person who sent the message might get banned.

§14 Change to Game Rules

Game rules will generally not change, but due to changes in game as the game develops, the Gladiatus team reserves the right to change the game rules as needed.

Dear users,

As most of you probably know, we have been struggling with implementing Pushing Rules. After serious (and right) complaints we decided to review them. We even let you guys contribute to the decision-making progress. We took all the emails sent to our Team Manager in consideration and with unanimity we decided to approve these rules (listed below).

They will become effective at Sunday 11th of April 8 pm server time (GMT +1). Please make sure you read and understand them.

Best regards,
Your Gladiatus.com Admin-team

“Reward” is limited to another item of similar value or gold.

Low level items from level 1 to 10 can be sold for maximum of 1000 gold .

Items of level 11 and up can be sold for no more than twice their value.

Buying or selling multiple items to the same player that appears to be pushing in the judgement of the GO is against the rules.

The team recognizes that each level of play has their own level of rare items.

With that in mind, players can sell rare items in the OPEN MARKET for higher amounts.

If you are not sure if the reward you are offering is adequate, ask a member of the game staff.

The reward must be paid within 24 hours.

Limitations:
It is allowed to sell an item way overpriced to save one’s gold. This
is known as Banking or Packaging. The gold has to be paid back between

Guilds are not to be bought or sold.

such as gear, upgrades, mercanaries or items of this nature is limited
to no more than 1 every seven days. Excluded are consumable items

Punishments:

2nd violation: 7day ban
3rd violation: 14day ban
4th violation: permanent ban
*Note: If a Pushing event is considered serious, a
longer or permanent ban may be issued. Serious offense consequences will
be considered at the discretion of the GA.

There is a clarification to the Bashing Rule:
Please make note of it:

Quoted

Bashing is based on within any 24 hour period because there are international players in this game and there are multiple timezones to consider so setting it to the 00:00-24:00 time frame will not work for Bashing purposes as the Basher and the Bashee may and likely will be in different timezones and thus we have to base Bashing on 24 hours from the first attack.

The changes are as follows

If there is a problem with the bank/package, such that items are mixed up or something went wrong with completing the bank/package, use the support tool to contact the servers GO (http://support.gladiatus.com).
